An admissions platform is not international because its interface is in English and its prices are in dollars. It is international when the office in Lahore reads Urdu, bills in rupees, takes a deposit over the counter and is never charged interest for paying late — and when the office in Toronto does none of those things, on the same installation.
Shipped, not fixed. Countries, languages and currencies are lists a workspace can add to — and an edit to a shared row gives you your own copy of it rather than changing everybody else's. Section 05 explains why that matters more than the length of the list.

02 — Languages
Every workspace picks its own. A group with a branch in Dhaka and a branch in Manchester is not choosing one language for both of them, and neither is the platform: the setting sits on the workspace, falls back to the installation's, and only then to English.
Codes are BCP 47 rather than two letters, so a market that needs pt-BR or zh-Hant is a row somebody adds, not a column somebody has to widen first.

A table keyed on "ar, he, fa, ur" is a list that is wrong for somebody: Kurdish is written left to right in Turkey and right to left in Iraq, and Azerbaijani has been written both ways within living memory. So each language row carries its own direction, and the interface mirrors from that.
Not just the text. A right-to-left interface that prints Urdu into a layout built the other way has moved the problem into the reader, which is the failure most "RTL support" actually is.
A British agency recruiting for Saudi institutions works in English about a country whose default is Arabic. Conflating the two would flip an operator's whole interface because of the market they sell into, so the two settings never touch.
03 — Currencies
A currency here is a currency the platform holds — invoices are raised in it and the ledger is kept in it. Naira displayed as a dollar figure with a rate applied at read time is not support for naira; it is a number that changes when nobody has paid anything.

Amounts are stored in minor units as whole numbers. Money that has been through a floating-point value is money that eventually fails to add up, and it fails in the reconciliation rather than at the keyboard.

Exchange rates are held per pair with the date they came into force, so an invoice keeps the rate that applied when it was raised. Nothing is quietly recomputed at a rate nobody agreed to.

A price book carries a currency and the date it applies from. A change is scheduled rather than applied backwards over days that have already been rated and billed.

Division floors, and the discarded fraction is never taken as revenue. Where a residual could land in our favour it posts to a charity account instead — the arithmetic is not allowed to be a source of income.
04 — Getting paid
There is no bundled processor taking a cut, and no list of providers you have to choose from. A gateway is a record you create: its provider, its credentials — encrypted, and never sent back to a browser once stored — its own fee, and the currencies it may be used for.
The provider answers back and the payment settles itself. Cards, and the instant bank rails that behave like them.
Paid from a balance already held on the platform. A mobile-money top-up lands once and is spent against invoices after that.
A transfer made outside the platform, with the reference and the instructions shown, and a person confirming it against the statement.
Handed over at the counter. Receipted like any other payment, because an office that takes cash still has to reconcile.
Every gateway carries the currencies it may run on, one decision per pair — allow or prevent. That is what makes the switch regional: an office billing in taka is offered the taka rails and nothing else, and a card gateway that must never see a local currency cannot be reached from the screen that would use it.
A minimum charge and a percentage sit on the gateway itself, because that cost is the provider's and differs by market. We do not add a platform margin on top of it, and the figure a payer sees is the one their own rail charges.
Successful or not, a gateway attempt lands in its own table with the response that came back. A payment somebody insists they made is a query against a table rather than an argument, and a wallet top-up is spent down against invoices from there.
Manual and cash are first-class here rather than a fallback. In half the markets on this page that is how most money actually moves, and a platform that only models card gateways is telling those offices to keep their real books somewhere else.
05 — Fitted, not translated

Countries, languages and currencies are one catalogue everybody reads. Correct a native name or a nationality and you get a fork of that row — yours, in your workspace, for good. Nobody else's list moves, and nothing you fixed is undone by the next platform update.

The eight markets are a starting list, not a boundary. A country, a currency, a language or a whole state and city tree can be added by a workspace, and it behaves exactly like the ones that arrived with the install.

Usage is measured nightly in the workspace's own timezone, then priced. A day that starts and ends in Dhaka is what a Dhaka office is billed for — not a day that ended at midnight in a datacentre somewhere else.

Not a setting that is switched off, and not a regional variation: there is no invoice line type a charge for lateness could be written on, a guard refuses anything that declares itself time-derived, and a test scans the billing code for arithmetic on overdue days.

A workspace that cannot pay gets more time or gets the debt forgiven, with the reason recorded. Those are the only two remedies in the system, because a concession with a price attached is not a concession.

Bank interest, unclaimed balances and rounding residuals post to a charity account on arrival and leave as sadaqah. There is no method anywhere that can move any of it into revenue, and the yearly zakat statement reads the ledger rather than an intention.
